A strategic marketing and promotions campaign builds excitement across the nation and includes the following, to name a few:
The annual CBC-televised Canadian Country Music Awards Show remains one of the most anticipated live performance showcases of its kind and provides encore airings on CMT in Canada, GAC in the U.S. and CMC in Australia. Broadcast to every household in Canada, last year on CBC alone the show attracted 600,000 viewers. In 2009, it is expected to increase to at least 650,000 viewers.
CMT will re-broadcast the show the following day, when it is expected to reach an additional 75,000 viewers.
The Awards Show is promoted on 75 stations across Canada, leading up to the event, for over $1 million in promotional airtime. Local radio sponsor JRfm reaches over 316,000 consumers every week.
Local print sponsors The Vancouver Sun and The Vancouver Province commit to intensive coverage and promotion of the Country Music Week events and collectively bring an average weekly readership of 2.5 million people.
